Radio:

Sandra began her radio career in the early 90s. She helped launch Hits 103.5 and started performing live-to-air broadcasts from nightclubs and businesses. Her colleague gave her the nickname 'Cruzer' which has stuck in the radio industry ever since. Sandra also co-hosted the morning show on Hits 103.5 with Joey Vendetta. As a lifestyle choice, she chose to remain as an Account Executive joining Corus Radio in 1999 where she continued to help  launch radio stations including Country 95.3 and Vinyl 95.3.In 2010, she began to represent Q107, 102.1 The Edge and AM640 and performed comedy at various fundraisers and corporate events in the GTA.

In 2014, Sandra was diagnosed with cancer and went on disability leave. While still on leave in early 2015, she turned to her passions of comedy and radio to get her through and launched the Art of Comedy podcast on Peach Radio.

 

Sandra is a Comedy Correspondent and can be heard on The Fearless Fred Show with Mel on 102.1 TheEdge, John Oakley, AM640, and Darrin and Colleen on Fresh 95.3. Sandra’s radio own show, “Inside Jokes” will launch on AM640 in early November 2015, and will be the first of its kind on terrestrial radio in Canada. In addition, Sandra is currently launching "Comedians in Cars Fighting Cancer' whereby Sandra, along with other comedians, drive cancer patients to their treatments and and along the way provide them a fun, uplifting ride.

 

Comedian:

Sandra’s first time performing stand up was in the early 90s at Yuk Yuk’s Search for Canada’s Funniest New Comic competition and placed in the semi finals. She continued to perform throughout the Greater Toronto Area at various comedy clubs and events opening for such stars as Russell Peters. She also completed studies at Second City.

 

MC Corporate Events and Fundraisers:

Sandra has an extensive and successful background as MC for various corporate events, galas and fundraisers. Her high energy and delivery immediately engages a crowd. Sandra’s business background combined with stand  up experience provides her the experience and professionalism to ensure your event is executed seamlessly and timely. Some of these events include MC at a private fundraiser in front of an audience of 3000 with a private performance by Sting. In addition, Sandra’s performed in front of federal dignitaries, judges and other high ranking officials. Sandra collaborates with event planners and organizers before the event to create material specifically tailored for their events and may include product integration to ensure all sponsors and VIPs are engaged and entertained.  Some of Sandra’s experience includes:

In the Spring of 2015, Sandra hosted her own fundraiser 'The Art of Comedy'while undergoing her own treatment for cancer. The event featured top Yuk Yuk's Headliners along with the city's hottest new Amateurs. Net proceeds to the event went to the Compassionate Care Fund, Credit Valley Hospital, Trillium Health Partners to help patients cover their costs for  medical supplies post surgery, compression sleeves, transportation to and from treatment. Sandra continues to  increase awareness for the plight of cancer patients in areas that are not often spoken about.
